Veneers only cover the front of the tooth and so, are just considered to enhance aesthetics like straightness, smile line, colour, shape, and cover fractures and chipping. Frequently asked questions about Dental Implants in Turkey

The preparation process shaves the enamel from the tooth so local anaesthesia is given to soothe any discomfort. Patients can request music to calm anxiety also.

Veneers require 1mm shaving of the natural tooth’s enamel. So the tooth is then damaged but patients can expect up to 10 to 15 years use of their new veneers before replacing.

In rare circumstances or with physical sports accidents, veneers can fall out, be knocked out or damaged. It is recommended to see your dentist as soon as possible to re-apply the veneer with a dental adhesive. The dentist will inspect the veneer for damage and if there is damage to the aesthetic or structural integrity, it’s best to replace the veneer completely.

Veneers are placed on front teeth only. This includes the incisors, canines and premolars. Patients have 4 incisors, 2 canines and depending on genetics patients can have 2 or 4 premolars per jaw. This means that there can be up to 8 or 10 veneers placed per jaw.

While veneers serve to enhance the aesthetic beauty of our smile, dental crowns serve to do the same however it has one more advantage. Crowns encapsulate the whole tooth protecting the natural tooth from all sides from plaque, bacteria and further physical damage and dental conditions. The disadvantage of this is that the whole tooth requires preparation. So really it is up to the wishes of the patient and also the extent of damage to the natural tooth.

16 to 20 veneers make up a whole set, or smile makeover. It depends if the patient has 2 or 4 premolars on each jaw. A good way to check is to take a picture of your full smile and count how many teeth are visible. Sometimes 8 is enough to the top jaw and 10 is enough on the bottom jaw. It all depends on the smile.

The veneers will continue to hold their colour for their lifetime. But it’s important to note that the porcelain or emax has a translucency that will enhance the colour of the natural tooth behind. So if a root canal is performed, a tooth dies, or there is already clear discoloration, zirconia can be recommended for its low translucency in these cases.

After veneers are fitted, patients can eat after 1 hour to allow the adhesive glue to bond between tooth and veneer.

Veneers in Turkey require approximately 3 appointments over 5-6 days.

Turkish veneers must be cleaned and brushed frequently as part of our daily brushing after meals.

Veneers, no matter the material applied, are non-porous so bacteria and food particles cannot attach to the surface. Veneers are completely protected from the formation of cavities. Because the veneer does not fully cover the posterior side of the tooth, cavities can still form on the natural tooth. If we don’t practise good oral hygiene techniques, our gums can recede from the connection line where the veneer finishes on our tooth. When gums recede, it allows bad bacteria and plaque to form, increasing cavity risk. That’s why good oral hygiene should be practised daily.

Natural teeth are always advocated to be preserved in all cases. If the patient feels that they could improve their quality of life with aesthetic dentistry, then the dental veneer in Turkey is a great option for them.

Dental veneers price in Turkey

Veneers last up to 10 to 15 years provided that we look after them with good oral hygiene practices. After 10 to 15 years, gums may recede, veneers may experience damage and general wear and tear that might instigate the renewal of veneers. In rare cases that the cementation material fails, the veneer can fall down. It’s a very simple process to clean the area and replace the veneer with new dental adhesive.

Dental veneers in Turkey are permanent restoration aesthetic solutions. The preparation of natural teeth is a process that cannot be reversed. So at the end of the veneer’s lifetime, a new veneer can be placed. If there is advanced damage to the teeth because of the lack of oral hygiene care, then a dental crown can be recommended to further protect the teeth.

Veneers in the UK can start from £600 whereas veneers in Turkey can start at up to 70% cheaper. When considering a smile makeover of up to 20 dental veneers. The savings start to add up. Dental veneers in Turkey and especially in Antalya city next to the mediterranean sea is a popular dental tourist destination. There are many activities, sunshine and shops available in Antalya as a top destination in the world. People come here for many reasons but they love it because it’s cheap due to economic conditions. So patients can come for cheap but high class dental treatment and still have the budget for other luxuries and travel. But unfortunately people can choose clinics that value the cost of treatment more than the quality. This has led to people making headlines in bad press because they experience issues with their dental treatments.

Veneers are an aesthetic restoration solution for patients who are looking to enhance the beauty of their smile. Small issues like slight tooth deviation, divots, cavities, calcium deposits and cracks and fractures are medical reasons where a dental veneer should be applied.

The dental veneer treatment is performed by one of Dentares’ specialised aesthetic doctors and their team of dental assistants and laboratory technicians.

There are some confusing terminology surrounding the definition of a veneer and the variation between other types of veneer. Dental veneers are approximately up to 0.5mm thick and are placed on the front face of the tooth and can cover the sides and a small portion of the posterior top side of the tooth. A laminate veneer and dental lumineer is only placed on the front side of the tooth and have differing thickness than that of a dental veneer.

Veneers are generally made from either PFM, zirconia or Emax. For the durability and aesthetic qualities, zirconia and emax are the main materials used to create dental veneers in Turkey.

Zirconia is a great option to consider for dental veneers due to its unparalleled strength and durability. Zirconia has the ability to be placed in a smaller thickness compared to Emax. The defining feature of a veneer is that it is also known as a partial veneer because it can cover the sides and a portion of the posterior side of the natural tooth. For structure and integrity, zirconia is a great option. But it comes with a downside. Zirconia has a low translucency attribute that isn’t able to recreate the same translucency of our natural enamel. So zirconia can be identified as the material of choice.

There are better materials and veneer methods that can provide a more natural result. Emax is a much more effective material to use on a dental veneer for its enamel-like appearance. Also for people who doesn’t wish to alter the natural tooth as much, can head over to our dental lumineer page or laminate veneer page for more information.

Emax is by far the best material to consider for dental veneer treatment. Emax veneers excel in the aesthetics department. The high translucency attribute of emax allows a restored tooth to resemble the natural enamel on the face of a tooth. Because of this attribute, Emax can identify the natural tooth’s colour and so a bleach white colour is added to the veneer. Emax veneers are the right choice for people with straight teeth that are slightly discoloured, have large gaps between teeth and for those with small lateral incisors.

The process of veneer treatment involves preparing the natural teeth and selecting a material, style and colour of a veneer to be placed on the front of teeth. The veneer is only suitable for front teeth as it only covers the front side of a tooth. Teeth are shaved down 1mm by a specialised aesthetic dentist using dental tools. Impressions are then taken using a dental putty. The putty is self-hardening over a minute. These impressions are then used to recreate a 3D model of your upper and lower jaw.

The laboratory is then able to scan a virtual model into our high tech computer software. CAD technology is used in combination with the dentist’s technical requirements and the patient’s selection of design style and colour to digitally create veneers. These veneers are functionally and aesthetically optimised on the computer.

Once optimised, zirconia or emax blocks are CAM machine-guided and precision cut accordingly. Using the rehearsal method, the doctor will make minor adjustments to the veneers to ensure aesthetic and function is perfect. The veneer is then cemented in place with a dental glue. Patients are then required to wait an hour before eating to allow the dental adhesive to set.

Dental veneers are purely an aesthetic restoration option and so patients with certain conditions would be better suited to have crowns or implants. Patients with cavities and other damages to the back side of their teeth could consider crowns as the veneers cover the front of teeth. Patients with orthodontic issues, meaning there are tooth positional issues could also consider crowns or orthodontic treatment.

There are a few things that would make a patient unsuitable for dental veneer treatment using Emax material. If the patient took tetracycline medications as a child. Patients that present these varying bite issues: a deep bite, class 3 bite, crossbite, and straight bite (when bottom and top teeth meet at the tip of the teeth). With these bite issues, the crowns are likely to clash resulting in a high risk of breakages and fractures.

Patients that present with open bite and class 1 & 2 bite are suitable for emax and zirconia crowns and have a lower risk of breakages and fractures compared to other bite issues. That is the deep bite, class 3 bite, crossbite, and straight bite. Additionally, all bite issues may be fixed with orthodontic treatment before patients wish to have emax crowns.

Emax and zirconia dental veneers are a very good option for patients with diastema (abnormally larger gaps between teeth), patients who are unable to improve the whiteness of their natural teeth. Slight teeth alignment deviation issues, uneven smile line, the resizing of small lateral incisors and fractured or cracked teeth.

Patients with severe discolouration would be recommend the zirconia option for dental veneers

Dental veneers from Dentares in Turkey do not change colour in the future. All materials are colour-lasting and can be relied upon for up to 10 to 15 years. There is the exception when using a high translucency material like Emax. While the Emax material doesn’t change colour, the natural tooth can die or discolour which can be highlighted by the transparency of the material. So always be sure to keep up the best oral hygiene practises to protect your dental veneers.

Your dental veneers can be cleaned everyday with regular brushing away from the gum line of a soft-bristled brush, frequent flossing and regular mouthwash. Patients are recommended to also see a dental hygienist twice a year for a dental examination and deep clean. These professional cleans remove plaque and other bad bacteria we would otherwise miss with our regular cleaning.

Dental veneers from Turkey can be used for 10 to 15 years provided strict oral hygiene standards are kept, and patients can continue to use them past their expected lifetime.

Dental veneers require up to 1mm teeth preparation and between 0.5mm and 1 mm of dental veneer is placed on top.

There is a slight pinch to the local anaesthesia that is offered. Once administered, the patient is not sensitive to the dental preparations of veneers. Calming music is also offered to our patients.

When dental veneers reach the capacity of their lifetime or become chipped and become and require a replacement. Dentists have specialised tools to cut off the veneer. Clean and polish the tooth surface and then place a new veneer without difficulty.

Dental veneers can be made with a few materials like PFM, zirconia and Emax. For best results and to avoid metal allergies, patients should consider zirconia and emax material because they are metal and alloy-free. PFM uses a metal base on top of the tooth and then porcelain is placed. This is not the best aesthetic and is not healthy for patients with a metal allergy.

Dentares’ dental veneers can replace damaged enamel resulting from acidic foods, reflux, certain medications, grinding habits, chipping or decay. Enamel doesn’t regenerate like our soft tissues so we only get one chance to take care of it.

Teeth start growing from birth up to the time we are in our late twenties but unfortunately some teeth don’t grow to the same smile line as neighbouring teeth. Smaller teeth are suitable for veneers to bring together an even, aesthetic smile line.

Dental veneers also give the opportunity to achieve the whiteness we desire. There are many colours available from bleach white to natural white with red, grey and yellow undertones.

Dental veneers are a sensitive treatment and so requires the attention of a trained specialist with unique dental tools, equipment and materials. For these reasons, dental veneers can be expensive. However, compared to western countries, Turkey has economic conditions that allow dental tourists to take advantage of local prices.

Dental veneers are a permanent restoration solution and so teeth preparation is not reversible. In cases where the enamel is damaged, chipped, discoloured, or grinded away, veneers are a great solution.

Patients can face sensitivity of the gums and teeth during their dental holiday and up to a month if a root treatment is given. This sensitivity is generally temporary, disappearing within a month. If sensitivity continues, it is a sign that a root treatment may be required, or the crown has been placed incorrectly. Both issues are easy to fix.
